Primary Function
The Accounting Supervisor in McBee SC will oversee the payroll functions while directly performing financial functions and analysis of the accounting department related to general accounting, fixed assets, purchase card administration and month end closing in a timely and reliable manner. The accounting supervisor will support the financial reporting process, forecasting and budgeting and review, analyze and interpret results of operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the processing of payroll data.
- Assist in preparation of monthly forecast.
- Responsible for Fixed Assets including capital projects, physical inventory of assets, forecasting cash flow and depreciation.
- Assist in preparation of annual budget, including direct labor, fixed spending and variable spending.
- Support the financial reporting process.
- Work closely with the external and internal audit groups.
- Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported and documented according to SOX 404 requirements.
- Complete month end closing including account reconciliations, journal entry, and reporting to divisional accounting.
- Review, analyze and interpret results of operations, identify financial and operation issues and make recommendations for change.
- Backup to accounts payable and payroll.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration required
- 3+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of previous supervisory experience required.
- Expertise in accounting functions to include payroll, accounts payable, and general accounting to include fixed assets, sales tax, and month end closing.
- High level of proficiency in PC spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in GAAP, SOX and other financial compliance standards
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to clearly communicate financial information in an easy to understand manner.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
