Job Description
ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
- CFS has partnered with a growing manufacturing firm located in Pittsburgh
- This individual will handle AP and AR duties and work with the staff accountant while also running the administrative reception desk, answering phones, responding to inquiries and other tasks as assigned.

OVERVIEW OF THE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE:
- Enter all vendor invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner
- Accounting Specialist verifies items/quantities received against purchase order and invoices using three-way match
- Answer vendor inquiries and communicate vendor issues internally or to other departments as necessary
- Accounting Specialist prepares check runs and processes checks for mailing
- Reconcile vendor statements to accounts payable records on a monthly basis
- Print or provide all accounts payable reports in a timely and accurate manner and maintains all accounts payable files
- Accounting Specialist prepares and provides account analysis as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE:
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting position or at least an associates degree in accounting/finance
- Strong communication skills and an ability to work cohesively with peers
- Accounting Specialist must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and a familiarity with current modern computer programs (Microsoft Teams/Slack/Outlook) and their best practices
