Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join our finance team. The Accounting Coordinator will play a key role in supporting various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing and coding invoices, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Handle accounts receivable duties such as invoicing customers, processing payments, and reconciling customer accounts.
- Assist in payroll processing, including maintaining employee records, calculating wages, and preparing payroll tax filings.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts as part of the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including variance analysis and budget vs. actual comparisons.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide training and support to staff on accounting processes and systems.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and drive operational efficiencies.
- Perform other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience with payroll processing and familiarity with payroll software is a plus.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is desirable but not required.
