Accounting Assistant
Job Description
The Accounting Assistant will assist the Sr. Accounting Manager in many areas including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and month-end reconciliations.
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records vendor invoices and transactions related to accounts payable.
- Creates goods receipts and AP invoices according to company practices.
- Assist in paying bills weekly.
- Assists in generating monthly customer billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Assist with monthly credit card excel; download and send out to cardholders.
- Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
- Distributes accounting reports as directed.
- Assist with mail distribution, filing, and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of SAP accounting preferred
