The Accounting Assistant role assists the Operations teams in servicing our firm clients. Responsibilities consist primarily of performing daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities across multiple entities. This position will require regular interaction with team members.
Essential Functions

- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist with vendor maintenance. This would include but not limited to verbal confirmations of address and wire instruction changes, w9 requests, 1099 reporting, electronically filing invoices.
- Updating client AR files so that current activity is captured
- Maintaining client weekly cash files
- Uploading of expense report downloads into our general ledger system
- Scrubbing expense report files to ensure consistent formatting and descriptions
- Maintaining expense report submissions versus American Express statements
- AML procedures for vendor and investor payments
- Populating internal control checklists for wire payments
- Assist with wire instruction change process
- Completion of special projects at direction of management.
- Merging of data into templates for publishing to investor portals

Work Environment
This role operates in a modern professional office environment, and routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree in an accounting related field
- 3+ years accounting/bookkeeping experience in lieu of Associate Degree
- 1+ years accounting experience preferred for Associates degree candidates
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Private fund administration experience

- Organization and multi-tasking; objectives can change quickly in response to client needs
- Software expertise, especially excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Flexibility to work hours needed to complete client deliverables
