Resort Restaurant Floor Manager

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is located on the serene island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands and is a family-owned and managed beach resort nestled in a beautiful sandy bay along the Caribbean Sea. Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

Job Status: Full-time

Job Summary: The Resort Restaurant Floor Manager is at the forefront of customer service and hospitality for the resort and is responsible for overseeing and directing daily operations of the Iggie’s Oasis Restaurant as well as supervising and directing staff and delivering prompt, efficient and friendly service to guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the entire Food & Beverage operation by acting as a liaison between the Front and Back of the house
  • Reads and makes daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management
  • Manages, trains, supervises, schedules, evaluates, and disciplines staff
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Provides customer service, answers customer questions, and addresses complaints
  • Oversees the balancing of POS, records income and expenditures, and monitor’s inventory
  • Ensures workspace is always clean and free of debris
  • Greets and treats guests cordially and respectfully
  • Adheres to proper service standards

Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent education required
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a restaurant/bar required
  • 2 years bartending experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of specialty cocktails and cocktail terms (i.e. neat, on the rocks), the menu and its ingredients and of day/evening specials
  • Must be familiar with the layout of the hotel
  • Guest and quality oriented
  • Always conduct business honestly and fairly
  • Manages time and pays attention to detail
  • Displays a positive attitude, even under pressure
  • Exemplifies the culture of authentic hospitality
  • Always be aware and attentive to guest needs

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Valid US Virgin Islands Health card
  • Valid Serv-Safe Credentials
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a flexible schedule for rotational shifts
  • Must follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times
  • Prior experience in hospitality preferred
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to stand, lift and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
  • Basic Math Skills required.

Compensation

$45,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year DOE/Exempt

Experience:

  • Supervising: 3 years (Required)

Shift availability:

  • 8-Hour Shift
  • Day Shift (Preferred)
  • Night Shift (Preferred)
