WHAT IS THE ROLE?

The Account Executive will be responsible for managing and growing an assigned account base and territory. This role requires a proactive approach to uncovering customer needs, delivering value through PLM Companies’ solutions, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationship-building skills, a consultative selling approach, and a deep understanding of the packaging and supply chain industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Selling: Utilize solution selling techniques to uncover customer pain points and offer value-driven solutions that align with their needs.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and end-users within assigned accounts, ensuring PLM Companies becomes their preferred supply chain and packaging partner.
  • Revenue Growth: Achieve a minimum of 7% annual growth in wallet share within existing accounts by presenting innovative solutions and expanding the product/service portfolio.
  • Field & Office Time: Allocate time efficiently, spending three days per week in the field meeting with customers and two days in the office for appointment setting, administrative tasks, proposal creation, CRM updates, etc.
  • Sales Forecasting & Pipeline Management: Accurately forecast sales and manage a full pipeline of viable opportunities that lead to consistent revenue growth. Ensure proposals and quotes are generated for all qualified opportunities, exceeding budget requirements.
  • Customer Engagement: Conduct a minimum of two Phone Blocking sessions per week to schedule customer and prospect meetings for the following week.
  • CRM Utilization: Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system, including tracking activities, quotes, marketing campaigns, and pipeline management.
  • Account Planning: Establish and adhere to a consistent weekly account schedule that meets the needs of all customers, regularly engaging with decision-makers and addressing issues promptly.
  • Business Expansion: Drive business expansion within existing accounts by introducing new products and services, and leveraging referrals to identify new opportunities.
  • Marketing & Seeding: Utilize seeding and email marketing tools to promote PLM Companies’ equipment, products, and services. Ensure a minimum of one email campaign is scheduled per month.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate customer needs to internal teams to ensure world-class customer service.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure that both PLM Companies’ business needs and customer expectations are met.
  • Time Management: Plan and organize weekly and monthly activities to maximize return on time investment, ensuring full coverage of the territory and all customer needs.
  • Sales Meetings & Training: Participate in weekly group sales meetings and one-on-one sessions with the manager to review KPIs and sales strategies. Complete the Solution Selling training program and engage in ongoing sales training.
  • Core Values: Uphold all company policies, procedures, and core values in daily activities and customer interactions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in account management, sales, or a related role (2+ years).
  • Strong understanding of the packaging and supply chain industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
